Did you use all your expiring coupons today?

(Made $3 taking home all this stuff)

Well, Today I went back to spend my $20 in Register rewards at walgreens (from the Robitussin/dimetapp deal I posted earlier).

-->There were a ton of coupons expiring today, last day of the year, so I went to use them up as well :)

NO, there were no digital ornaments left.. oh well. You went and bought them all didn't you?

However, I did get $129.94 in items purchased, and will end up with an overage of almost $3 after rebates.

I used my $20 register rewards, $85.24 in store sales/coupons/mfg. coupons, and the last day of using the 20% off employee discount.

So, the total cost after coupons were used, was $18.71.
-minus $7.99 for Revlon free rebate offer found in walgreens easy saver book
-minus $2 glade wisp rebate offer also found in book
-minus $6 in Register rewards received from this transaction(johnson and Johnson and gillette fusion razor)

That is a final cost of $2.72 for $129.94 in stuff purchased

-->Then if i submit for the febreze noticeables rebate of $5.59, that means

I will actually have gotten everything for free and came out almost $3 ahead!

all items purchased in above transaction: 2 four pack thermacare, 5 bottles gillette body wash, 2 Johnsons baby oil, 1 johnsons baby powder, 1 Vaseline intensive care 24.5 oz lotion w/bonus tube, Vaseline clinical therapy lotion, 1 gillette fusion razor, 1 ten pack papermate pens, 2 pkgs sore muscle patches, 2 glade scented oil candle holders, 1 glade wisp, 1 Revlon matte collection eyeliner, 1 febreze noticeables, 2 pkgs skittles for the kids.

-I also did a second transaction for a second fusion razor, 1 johnsons baby shampoo, 2 johnsons baby wash 28 oz, 2 vicks vaporub, 1 vicks digital thermometer, 1 box puffs tissues with lotion(free when you buy 2 vicks products) . Total: $21.99, got $11 in Register rewards back, I paid with walgreens rebate card= FREE with $11 moneymaker!

The past month's coupon saving shopping trip highlights

I know I have been posting very little, unlike my normal posts, but it's the holidays, is all I have to say :)

well, I wanted to share a few really good shopping trips i have had recently couponing.

For example, right now, all the $1 items at target are half off. So with the Rayovac $1 coupon, you can get two pkgs for free. So I planned on getting 12 pkgs free with coupons but ended up being able to get 24 pkgs of batteries, two pkgs of goody ouchless hairbands for my daughter, and another clearance item that was priced at $3.99, all for .92 out of pocket after coupons!

I need all those batteries for all the kid's christmas toys, so it was an awesome find. (and hubby's toys too)

(you can normally get the batteries free with the $1/1 coupon found on the rayovac website)

Another battery related purchase at walgreens:
I bought the 16 count Duracell batteries on sale for 9.99
-used a walgreens holiday reward and a mfg. coupon and paid 2.67 out of pocket for the 16 count pack.
Submitted the walgreens rebate for $3 back on each pack of duracell that you buy (up to 4 packs) So I actually got more back on the rebate than I paid.
I got two packs for 2.67 each and i got $6 back on my walgreens rebate card!!

I got a bunch of stuff for hubby at walgreens one shopping trip:
I bought
2 of the Gillette mens body wash, normally $4.99 each
(he is addicted to this kind now, since I have been getting it with coupons and refuses to use anything else! Before couponing, we bought the generic, cheapest body wash we could find)
I Also got :
2 of the Gillette Fusion Razor cartridge refills, normally $14 each.
2 cans of Gillette Hydragel shaving gel, full size, normally over $4.00 each
1 bag of chex mix snack
2 holiday pencils (stocking stuffers)

With tax, I paid $2.27 out of pocket after store sales and coupons! I even ended up with two coupons left that I didnt even need to use- I dont know how that happened..
-Not that I don't think my hubby is worth more, but why not pay less :)

Today, I bought $20 of adult cold/cough medicine, $20 of children's dimetapp (it is cold season after all!), and $20 of Dr Scholl's gel insoles for hubby, Paid $14 out of pocket for all of it after coupons, and received $30 back in store credit (Register Reward coupons) left over to respend later on whatever we wish.

(through dec 31st, 2008, if you buy $20 worth of either dimetapp or robitussin at walgreens, you will receive $20 back in store credit, which makes it free. with coupons, it is a money maker as you can see)

I have a ton of coupons that expire on the 31st, so I will be going back this week to use up my coupons and the $30 in store credit :)
I have my eye on these Digital xmas ornaments that hold 56 photos. Normally $19.99, they are on sale for 75 percent off at walgreens and using my register rewards, they will be free. They better have some left when i go or else... Now dont you go and buy them all!!!

Oh, forgot, today I also bought $10 in Johnson and Johnson brand baby shampoo/body wash and baby products. paid Less than $3 after mfg coupons and store coupons, and I got another Register reward for $3 back. Which makes the stuff free.

I wish the Dollar Tree took coupons ha ha. I went and picked up a couple of coupon organizers there along with a package of chopsticks- hubby was thrilled about that!!

If you have any questions on any of the above or couponing in general, feel free to email me at froginpigtails at yahoo dot com or leave me a comment here.

Steve & Barry's is going out of business. We went there and got some awesome deals for the family. Hubby got 3 pairs of Cotton twill slacks for work for $5 each
Juniors and women's jeans are $5 a pair, T-shirts were less than $2. Children's clothes were nearly gone at the store i went to...
The best deal were Cherry wood & metal hangers and pants hangers were five for $1.00
These were super nice hangers in thick wood. now i can get rid of some of our plastic ones :)

We woke up to snow drifts all around and my 6 year old said, "This is totally AWESOME! We are TRAPPED!!!"

I was thinking, oh yea, it would be so awesome to be trapped in here with 3 kids...wait, isn't that just like every other day of my life? Ha ha

Making Christmas Ornaments today with the kids: Recipes

We are busy making lots of ornaments for the kids to paint, etc.
This is super easy, super cheap and fun! The cinnamon ones are a little more difficult to do as the dough is a bit brittle before it dries, so I recommend that one for the adults or the older kids.

Baked Ornaments to Paint or decorate:

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
3/4 cup water
Preparation:Mix until moistened; knead well. Roll the dough, 1/2 portion at a time, about 1/8-inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters, making small punched holes in each for string or other type of hanger. Bake on foil lined baking sheets at 250° for 2 hours. Cool thoroughly. Paint with water colors then shellac and let dry, or coat with Elmer's Glue and sprinkle with glitter while still wet. These ornaments, decorated are not edible, so take care to keep them out of reach of smaller children.

Cinnamon Ornaments
1 cup ground cinnamon
1 tbsp. cloves
1 tbsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. applesauce
2 tbsp. white glue

Preparation:In medium bowl, combine cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Add applesauce and glue; stir to combine. Work mixture with hands 2 to 3 minutes or until dough is smooth and ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Divide into 4 portions. Roll out each dough portion to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut dough with cookie cutters. Using straw or toothpick, make small hole in top of ornament. Place cut out ornaments on wire rack to dry. Allow several days to dry, turning ornaments over once each day. Use to decorate gifts, hang on tree, etc. These last for years and the fragrance does too!! Super Christmas smell :)

-->Find more instructions here such as no-bake painted ornaments:

The website above also has instructions for lots of ADORABLE globe ornaments to make! I have GOT to try the froggy ones :)

The Destroyer needs more toys to ruin

(Disclaimer: this posting is strictly fun-no sale is expected)

Someone on your list's got everything?
Bet they dont have these, so make their day and get these now!!

Quantity is limited to items on hand:

Ok, you are getting some really great stuff here, minus a few bite marks etcetera, and in turn you are helping my two older children get some very much needed NEW toys.

(no, I won't mention that the new things will most likely get a little damaged, but we promise that we will be keeping them away from "the destroyer's" clutches for as long as possible!)

My two oldest kids are begging me for something to play with that hasn't been eaten, or broken by their baby brother, "the destroyer". Your purchase today can help them out.

What's included?
Here, you will find some very usable, not to mention, colorful chalk. It is the sidewalk type, fat and round, for kids to easily hold onto, but it can also be used on a regular sized chalkboard( no, a giant sized board is not necessary!). Other uses include coloring on dark paper or furniture for really neat effects! It could possibly work to just amuse anyone that enjoys the chalky taste of things such as tums, etcetera. Those individuals will also, MOST LIKELY really like chewing on these large, mouth sized sticks of chalk. Sorry, they don't come in specific flavors, but that can be a good thing. They will compliment anything else you want to eat them with.

Unfortunately, my son did not like the chalk he started to eat, but don't worry, I am teaching him the lesson of "waste not, want not" by offering this only partly-used, otherwise, perfectly good chalk to YOU!! Help me teach him this valuable lesson at an early age. Especially with the rising cost of such things as gas, his future will be so much the better if he grows up learning to Conserve and reuse.

Tip: Save more money by make wrapping paper with the chalk and some dark paper, just dont rub up next to the gifts, once they are wrapped- you will ruin the effect.

Does the color stain?
One chalk stick is Peach colored, one is (supposedly) black but more of a light black- not jet black.
Since we tested this already, these do not color your teeth at all. If you were looking for something that does, I am sorry.

Can I keep these for display?
You can most definitely keep these for display, or if you are needing to refer back to them, in order to see what the average 15 month old baby's teeth marks look like, or what the measurements are, for research sake. If you happen to have a glass case, for protecting such artifacts, that would be perfect! THe last thing you want, is someone else chewing on them. Then, you wouldn't know which teeth marks for sure, are the original ones :(
I am including in this listing, some closeups of the genuine baby teeth marks, so you can see, that these are indeed made by human, baby-sized teeth.

How much use can I expect out of these?
In case of a chalk emergency, where you need to write a message on the sidewalk in front of your house, you can always just "break glass" and use these 3 chalks. There should be plenty to write several various messages, such as "Dog for sale" "kids for sale" or one of the more popular messages such as "Free husband-must go".

Will my purchase arrive intact?
I will make sure to wrap these in some of the kid's bubble wrap that they play with. They shouldn't cry too much when I use one of their toys as packaging- they are used to disappointments- but we choose to call them "sacrifices". THis was one of the other valuable life lessons I have made sure to instill in them at an early age, Yes I am a proud parent. Proud, proud, proud! :)
There might even be a few unpopped bubbles left for you to enjoy, but this would be PURELY an added bonus and should not be considered as included in the price of auction.
Is it guaranteed to arrive unbroken? There are no guarantees in life, yes, this is anther lesson my kids have learned, and if you are lucky, you might learn it too- or your chalk may arrive completely intact.

If you thought this was a good deal already, you are in for a treat.
THERE is MORE.

Not one, but TWO glittery, sparkle lip gloss containers are also yours! They were full of grape flavored gloss with tons of sparkley stuff in it, just yesterday. So that makes it nearly NEW, wow!
There is actually quite a bit left around the edges, so go crazy with this stuff. Not only does it make anything you put it on super sparkly, but it smells so delicious you will want to eat it. Just ask "the destroyer", he really enjoyed this one!
Nevermind that the container had tinkerbell on it or that his sisters were disappointed again, that he ruined something brand new. He looks GREAT now, with so much sparkle that you need sunglasses to look at him.

I am almost certain the sparkle will last through the holiday season, so it was perfect timing!!
Don't worry about licking the edges of the container, he didn't put that it in his mouth. He just stuck his fingers in and used those, so it's safe!

If you are dying to get your hands on some more of this stuff, I can round up a whole box of extra FREE and nearly new items, but please hurry and bid because my kids will need more toys by then to replace the ones that the destroyer has gotten ahold of while I was typing this up.
He is getting nothing from Santa, according to his sister, so don't worry-
lesson already learned!

You get two Reddi wip for $4 , then use two of the $1 all you coupons and get them 2 for $2 :)
Other great deals included in the $20 sale going until tuesday, include Snack Pack pudding 10 for $10, frozen meals 10 for $10, marie callendars meals, orville redenbacher popcorn, Pam cooking spray, wesson cooking oil, etc. If you have insert coupons for Chef boyardee, you can get a great deal on their products, as they are 4 for $5

I always make homemade pumpkin and apple pies, but for that price and the icecream thrown in, I am getting some frozen pies this year too.

I am heading to target also to get some glade boxed scented oil candles. (or refills)
When you buy 4 you get a $5 gift card. With my coupons, I should pay under $2 for four of these gifting items and get a bunch of gift cards to spend on the xmas items I need from their sale this week, like the Yo Gabba Gabba toys of course, bratz dolls, maybe some storage containers...

If you need enfamil baby formula, they are giving a $5 gift card when you buy two this week at target.

I am also heading to office depot tomorrow. they have a save $40 instantly on a new HP printer when you trade in your old one. Mine makes a horrific grinding noise when it is done printing and i have to jiggle the cartridge casing when i print something because it will say it is jammed. So, it is quite a scary process when i print out my online coupons!! Maybe i can get a good printer this week.. there is an hp printer reg. 129.99 on sale for $109.00 and if i trade in my old one, i could possibly get a decent price!

Not much i see at fred meyers. i was going to get stove top stuffing, since they are 10 for $10 (or $1 each) but .79 cents at Target is much better!

craft warehouse has a Revolution die cutter for $79.99, but still out of my budget this year. I tried one of these at a scrapping group day and it was so awesome, i couldnt figure out how it worked, but it was so simple to use. you stick these foam, embossed cards in there with the die cut shape you want, you put a piece of paper on top and crank the handle. It comes out on the other side with the shape cut out, like magic...
No electricity required! it is super heavy duty and comes in a nifty little trunk case...cute!
Well, I can dream---

Slowing down during the Holidays?

I apologize to those of you tuning in on our theme days such as fun fridays, mommy mondays, shopping saturdays, etc.
With the holidays nearing and icky cold bugs rearing their ugly heads among my 3 kids, I have not been able to post faithfully.

For the remainder of the year, I will be still posting fun info on shopping deals, coupons, freebies, etc. and also some fun stuff for the kids, but they won't be on certain days.
I will just post info any time during the week, as I find the time on any ol' day of the week! So there may be fun kids stuff posted in the middle of the week, or shopping tips posted at the beginning of the week, rather than on our usual blog schedule.

So please stay tuned in and have a great Holiday!

Walmart Black Friday 2008 Toys for $10 ?

The whole ad for walmart's black friday will be released on the 24th :)
Here is what we know so far:

The 2008 Holiday Shopping Intentions Survey, conducted on behalf of Walmart, was designed to learn what's on America's Christmas list this year, and what the gift buying priorities are for this coming Christmas season. In addition, the survey measures how the recent economic downturn may affect things ranging from how much consumers will spend on gifts, whom Americans will be shopping for, to how much people plan to give in charitable donations during the holiday season.
The survey finds more than one-third of Americans buy gifts for their children first.

Walmart has identified 10 popular toys, priced each at $10, to help parents get a head start.

The toys are: --
Barbie and her dog, Tanner --
Barbie Mariposa (a beautiful butterfly-winged Barbie) --
Play-Doh Ice Cream Shop --
Assorted Littlest Pet Shop VIPs --
Hot Wheels Trick Tracks --
Hot Wheels Beast Bash --
Fur Real Newborn Animals --
Tonka Light and Sound Vehicles --
Doll Stroller --
Backugan by Spinmaster

Mommy Monday it's the Season for chocolate

I don't know about you, but we are eating quite a bit of chocolate at our house, due to the holiday Halloween season approaching!

But, if you happen to NOT have enough chocolate in your stash, you can get a box of FREE truffles from Haydee Chocolatier here.

Or if Pizza is more your style, you can get Red Baron Pizzas at walgreens for $2.50 and use a $1 coupon found here.

Myself, we just went to Target this morning and bought 3 Digiorno Brand pizzas and got a $5 target gift card! We bought six, and got two $5 gift cards. I think I am going to use those as part of a Christmas gift for relatives that live out of state. Gift cards are great for mailing, as they don't weigh alot!! :)

I also went to Fred Meyer (kroger) and bought some more Frosted mini wheats (buy 3 get $3 catalina back). On the back of the maple and brown sugar ones, there are movie token thingies. You can collect 5 and get your choice of free DVD's. There are some great kids movies, including classics like Chitty Chitty Bang bang. So now, I have 5 tokens and can get a free kids movie to use for Christmas present!!

The hershey's candy that used to be 2 for $5 at Fred Meyer (kroger), is now 2 for $4. So you can get 8 bags of candy for halloween and get a $5 catalina back, so the bags of candy are around $1.25 each. That beats giving out those tootsie rolls that everyone else hands out that just end up collecting in the bottom of the trick or treat bag!

->Sneak Peek DEAL for KROGER stores:
the Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks and Pop Secret popcorn catalina deals are returning in November. I bought 4 of each last time and received $2.50 OYNO for the fruit snacks and $3 OYNO for the popcorn, so it may be the same deal this time around. Someone on SD got this info from customer service.

Some more freebies for moms:

My son is absolutely LOVING all the new Yo Gabba Gabba episodes. He especially loves the Birthday episode. Here is some pictures of him with his treasured Yo Gabba Gabba pillow:

Whenever he is tired or crabby, he will run to find his brobee pillow and plop his head down on it. It is sooo cute!!

If you haven't tried out the new baby & toddler games and gizmo effects on the yo gabba gabba website, try them out!
The "Gizmos" are perfect for babies, since every time you move or click the mouse, the gizmos react.

The games are for older toddlers and young Children. My six year old daughter likes to try them out.

You can also watch some of the song videos from the tv show!

Looking for merchandise? My kids got adorable new pj's at walmart featuring Brobee(the little green one, shown above) and Foofa, my daughter's favorite. (the pink one) Target is also supposed to be carrying the line.

I know Hot topic website also carries the stuffed pillows and other small items.

There is also a whole new site for their merchandise at tystoybox.com

-->Keep up on all the news at their blog: brobee.blogspot.com

Fun Friday

Well, my kids missed the last lowe's build and grow workshop making skeletons a couple weeks ago, so I went today online and signed them up for the pumpkin project for tomorrow.

You can go to their website here to sign up for that or for the lowe's racing team semi truck coming up in a few weeks.

Or, Home Depot is offering a free project to make cool leaf presses on November 1. These are great for pressing more than just leaves! Go here to find their kids workshop info

Tomorrow, Saturday the 25th, Toysrus are also hosting a Family Video Game Day. You can try out all the latest games for free from 12-4pm.

On Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Border’s will hold a Halloween Spooktacular. Dress up in costumes for their costume contest, listen to stories or play games.

Don't forget also, for moms, the ALL YOU, Yes you Can, event happening at a walmart near you on either the 25th or 26th. Visit the link above for listings. There will be free samples and fun stuff from companies like suave, crisco, weight watchers, carefree, etc

With Halloween coming up, there are lots of exciting, fun ideas for the kids!
Here are a few of our favorites:

Phantom Punch

1 Qt. Orange Juice

1 Qt. Seltzer Water or Club Soda

1/2 Gallon Sherbert

Grape Juice
Combine the liquid ingredients in a large bowl. You can add dry ice for a spoooky display! Complete by slicing sherbert into small squares and float on top. Serves 8-10 thirsty ghosts!

Paper Plate Masks Make a silly, scary mask using paper plates and cardboard egg cartons. Cut eye holes in a large paper plate. Cut apart the cups of an egg carton and arrange them on the plate to make a nose, beard, bumps. When you have an arrangement you like, use glue or masking tape to attach the cups in place. Paint the mask with finger paints and add facial features. Let the paint dry. Punch a hole in each side of the paper plate and string a piece of elastic or string through each hole to go around the head.

Paper Plate Spiders Paint paper plates black using finger paints. Let the paint dry. Using white paint, add eyes. You can also use the round paper reinforces used to reinforce the holes on 3 ring binder paper. Using black pipe cleaners, have the children bend legs and glue to the bottom of the plate.

Gumdrop Spiders Cut two black pipe cleaners into eight pieces. Buy black licorice gumdrops. Insert four pipe cleaner spider legs on each side of a gumdrop.

Sick Friday, hoping for a better monday, Bad Mommy Pizza blunder and Walgreens Shopping success story

Sorry i didnt post fun friday for the kids but my 6 year old was sick with a cough all night on thursday night and so she stayed home from school friday. I have been giving her the new triaminic thin strips that we got last week for free at walgreens. It takes me all day to get her to take any liquid medicine, so these are perfect for her! She just puts the very small thin strip in her mouth and then i let her drink some juice afterwards as a reward. Takes less than 30 seconds now to medicate her :)
(You can still go to the triaminic website to print $2 off any triaminic product)

So.. since we basically had a "case of the Monday's" today on a friday, that means Monday will be great, right??

Tomorrow, I am going to make my first Kroger's shopping trip. (stores include Fred meyer, ralph's, fry's, etc). Feeling "iffy" on this, but we will see how it goes...
Supposedly, if I use my coupon to buy one get one free on a glade gel warmer for under $2, I will get two $4 catalinas to use on my next purchase...buy a scented oil warmer for $4.99 minus a $2 coupon and a bogo, and get two $4 cats

Well, tonight was school fundraiser night at Papa John's. I decided to order online, not realizing until I placed the order, that there was no comment box or any way for them to know I was participating in the fundraiser.. UMMMM. Did I mention I had a sick child and a baby to take care of all day? That's my excuse! well, you know what they say about good intentions..oh well.
I must admit it was the BOGO pizza code that enticed me to order online, whoops :)

By the way, the code is "chase" to get a free large 3 topping pizza when you order a large 3 topping pizza. Or "amex" to Buy x-tra large specialty pizza & get free large original crust 1-topping pizza.

My shopping at Walgreens tonight went slightly better than the pizza fundraiser fiasco!

Since employees got 25% off friday only, I saved all the more expensive rebate items for today's shopping trip and even got the Revitalift item continued from last month's rebate book.
Of course, I used a bunch of the awesome new HIGH DOLLAR coupons from the right@ home website. There are coupons for all but one of the rebate items needed for #27 in the October walgreens easy saver booklet. They range from $10 off the automatic shower cleaner, to $2 off Pledge, Scrubbing bubbles stuff, and more!! There is $30 0f coupons on there and you should be able to print them twice...

So anyways, I paid around $25 OOP, got over $27 back in RR's and will get over $25 in rebates(havent figured the exact amount yet.) I even got $1.18 back in change on one transaction!!

I made $2.50 on each oral b cross action toothbrush I bought, for just one example of the great deals i got today. The total amount saved in mfg coupons alone was around $105, not counting any of the IVC/walgreens store coupons!

One of my transactions should have been .84 cents, but ended up being $2.04 instead because they forgot to give me the discount. whoops...

Hope you all have good plans for the weekend. We have errands to run, must replace dead vacuum, get some sewing notions, a few groceries.. and I promised my hubby I would make onion rings. He reminded me at 8:30pm- yeah, I'll get right on it.

Dream of quitting your job to stay home with the kids? The first step is understanding your expenses. The second? Seeing if your family can cover them comfortably on just one salary.
Use the Parents.com Stay at Home Calculator. It helps you see if this would be an option for you and your family. Great tool!

Arm & Hammer has lots of printable coupons, including ones for laundry detergent that's on sale next week at walgreens (oct12).

-->Here is a great beauty tip for moms using Baking Soda:
Add a tablespoon of baking soda to a creamy face wash a few times a week. "Baking soda is a gentle exfoliant that removes oil from your pores," says NYC derm Sapna Westley.

Other beauty tips-

Mist your face with a refreshing tonic for a pick-me-up anytime. Fill a 3 oz spray bottle with water and squeeze a fresh orange, and add the zest from the peel. "The citrus replenishes your skin and the aroma perks you up," says Spa expert Ole Henrikson.

Ease neck and shoulder tension:
Roll a few bags of chamomile tea in a setamed hand towel(dipped in hot water and wrung out). Wrap it around your neck and rub it from side to side. "The tea scent relaxes your muscles, and the heat may help to loosen up any stiffness", says Susan Knoplfer, Miami chiropractor. "Tilt your right ear toward your shoulder and hold it there for five seconds. Repeat on the left side, this undoes tension in the lower neck so you may actually feel looser all over."

Here are some photos of my 6 year old having a whole lotta fun a few weekends ago, and it was all FREE! (minus a couple quarters for the "rides")

Here she is, just leaving Lowe's after building her very own Pirate ship. She just loves her goggles and had lots of fun as you can see by her face:

Next stop, was the mall, where she rode on some little Rides:

"Maybe if I stick my tongue out, it will go faster!"

(There was a little girl, with no parents in sight that I could see, sitting on the rides, so we shared a quarter with her too.)

Next stop, Free Basketball, carnival style

"way to go!"

Of course, she had to try on at least 3 different halloween accessories on her head at one time!

Fun Friday for Kids M&M's anyone?

My kids are having a four day weekend, so Friday crept up on me today. I thought it was still Thursday since they didnt have school yesterday or today! whoops :)

well with the winter season coming up, we have been stocking up on cold medicine and tylenol for the kids. I got three of them now, so we will be using a lot of it I expect!

Until Saturday, you can get 3 bottles of Tylenol cold medicine for kids or Motrin for a great deal at Walgreens. On sale for $4.99 each, there is also a $1.50 off coupon in the October Easy saver booklet and you can get a couple more $1 tylenol coupons on the tylenol.com website. Once you print your coupon, click the back button 3 times to print your second $1 coupon. That is $8.47 for 3 bottles, plus you will get a $5 Register Reward back, good on your next purchase. So it is less than $4 for 3 bottles of tylenol. YOu can take $2 off the price of each bottle of Motrin as well, if you use the coupon in the walgreens coloring book- found near the pharmacy, and use the $1 coupon on the motrin.com website. If you are new to walgreens and need more info, leave a comment and i will respond.

This coming week from Oct 5 through the 11th, M&Ms are on sale for 2/$4. There is a $1 off 2 in the October walgreens easysaver book, and there were also $1 off 2 coupons in the newspaper last weekend. So you can get two bags of M&Ms for your kids(or yourself) for only $2! IF you have a walgreens rebate card, you can also earn $4 for 4 bags. So that is 4 bags for free after rebate!

YOu could even use Rice Krispies you bought with the coupon I posted last friday, to make cool halloween treats with m&ms for decoration. OR make cupcakes, line them up like a centipede. Use rope licorice for legs on both sides of the cupcakes, and decorate the tops with M&M patterns on the "back" of the centipede. Spoooky

Make Gingerbread houses out of graham crackers and frosting (there are coupons for frosting on our coupon sidebar widget). Use the M&M's in halloween colors to create a spook house!

My kids make these every year for halloween and Christmas!

GO HERE to see literally TONS of cool Treats that you can make for Halloween with the kids and M&Ms and other goodies!!

Alien Invasion Cookies, Dancing Bones brownies, Frankenstein goodie bags, and so much more, perfect for at home treats or for sharing at any party.

Here is the link for ALL TREATS USING M&M's

You know how my girls love pirate stuff, so I am sure we will be trying this Pirate Cake.

So far though, we havent managed to keep the m&m's around long enough to use them for decoration! Four bags have already been all used up. We are going tomorrow to get 4 more for FREE :)

Hey, we might have enough to make these cute crawlin' critters, because they dont require that many m&m's :) Picture shown at the top of this post.
